Bishops Make Returns
a
THE 75th ANNIVERSARY OF THE Dempsey, Finance Secretary, S. G.
EMANCIPATION PROCLAMA- Baker, A. M. E. Review, A. P. Pos-
TION TO BE OBSERVED tell for the Bishopric for 1940.
I wish to call our attention to the
facts as they are. We have four or five
men in the race for the bishopric. We
know that all of us cannot be elected.
I think we should get together and set-
tle on one man, and each try to foce the
other out of his way. If we cannot
get together, I think Dr, S. A. Harris
should by our Bishop’s consent call a
meeting and let the state decide on a
man, There is no need of the waste of
money, with four or five men in the race
for one thing in one state. All of the
former candidates know that I will help
any man that the state gets behind,
and will not sleep as long as there is
any thing to do. And I will appreciate
the help of any and all. CANDIDATES,

our Missionary Day. We had a high

Sunday School, opening at 9:30 A. M.
At 3 P. M. we reassembled for a Mis-

Mrs. S. A. Alexander gave wonderful
hints on Missionary work in America

was carried out in a pew rally form.
The attendance was 263. Receipts $17.41.
